I am so upset! Why are teenagers so mean!

I am 37 and I do everything for my family as well as having a full time job by the way.

I have a 14 year old and a 9 year old and

Kids are selfish.

I’ve stopped running around after my DSC. I get no thanks (they just expect to be waited on) and the 12 year old over night has turned into a ‘Kevin & Perry’ character. When they tell me they can’t be bothered to lay the dinner table after i’ve been at work all day, travelled for 3 hours, been to the supermarket and cooked dinner. I remind them that i’m not their slave and if they don’t help they won’t eat.

Our role as adults is to teach them to be independent. Be tough on them.

They are selfish. When my teen started with I’m tired and I don’t want to I told him I felt the same. Stopped cooking. Made myself a Brew and went and watched some tv. When he realised there was no dinner he came to see if I was alright and we had a little chat Grin

Don’t wirry, that’s quite normal!

Both my dds are lovely but the teenage years were hard. When it gets too much, do what EveryoneTalks posted! It usually works very well.

Both of mine are like this. I find all teenagers like this, even though most of them are very nice boys. I know NOT what the answer is......
