17 year olds whole bottle of wine at lunch!

After dinner barely turned 17 year old daughter very casually pulled bottle of white wine out of the fridge and guzzled most of it. Drank it like it was a cup of coffee! Didn't want to make an issue and was curious to see how far she'd go. Partly because I thought she was doing it to get a reaction out of me. She seems very sober still just a bit more chatty. She's now in her room on her phone. Do I say anything? Or not make an issue? We have a fairly tense relationship and she barely opens up to me.

Well I think I'd have said something as soon as she poured a glass. She shouldn't help herself to alcohol you've bought and it's very unhealthy to smash a whole bottle!

Have you been aware of her drinking before because necking virtually a whole bottle and still seeming quite sober suggests she's used to drinking and has developed quite a tolerance for it

Nothing wrong with a 17 year old having wine but a bottle is a lot

I know she drinks a bit. The usual of party here and there. Roughly about twice a month. But honestly she's home a lot and not a mad party animal. Also she was fine this morning. Mentioned casually today saying a bottle is too much for anyone's liver to deal with. I know if I came down heavy she'd rear up and use it as an excuse for a massive row. Worrying though.

If she drank a whole bottle and didn't seem drunk or have a hangover then she's drinking way more than you think.
You need to have a word.
It's expensive, bad for her and if she's drinking heavily it could become a very unhealthy habit.
