Where does the line come, in your opinion, regarding privacy for a 12 year old (13 on a few weeks).

Reading diaries is frowned upon.

Checking internet history acceptable.

Checking social media accounts and messaging apps... acceptable in my mind but I feel I will meet eith resistance when I demand his laptop password later on (just gone to use it and it's locked for the first time lol!!)

In actual fact I'm not that interested in his messaging as I look at his phone and it's all normal stuff. He doesn't know I look at his phone however.

Just generally interested.

Any agreed secret drawer - no
Personal diary/journal - no
School/homework diary - yes
Phone/tablet/email etc - yes

Mine is 12 and this is the rules for us, which she agrees to - if she didn't, she wouldn't have.
