Angry DS15

DS15 is currently punching holes in his bedroom door due to his waste of space father letting him down again.
I've tried to calm him down and he's threatened to punch me.
This happens a few times a year.
DS refuses any offer of counselling or support outside the family.
Any advice please?

If he's threatening to punch you, the only thing you can really do is back away from him and let him vent his anger. He's furious, overdosing on teenage hormones, and learning what a shit his dad is. He's going to have to work that off himself, unfortunately.

Once he's calmed down, though, have a conversation with him - trying if you can to leave blame and accusation out of it - about how he's going to have to repair the damage. If he's got no money, he'll have to find a way to get it. Tell him too that he cannot destroy YOUR home, but that he must find a better outlet for his anger. Perhaps a punchbag or kicking things about in the woods?

Thanks JWrecks
He ran out of steam fairly quickly.
I'll try and talk to him in the morning.
