My eldest is trying to get his mates together for a lads holiday next summer.

Has anyone's teens done similar, and can advise on good locations? Cheap clean accommodation, nightlife etc.?

Ta.

The standard locations are Magaluf, Ayia Napa, Zante... Ibiza if they've got a bit of money!
If they go into a travel agents they'll have club 18-30 reps and they will be able to get them a decent deal which they can pay up rather than having to pay in one go

Our lot went to Poland at 16 just after GCSEs. But I don't think that's normal!

My 18 year old ds has just today come back from a week in magaluf. He had a great time but said the hotel was awful, dirty, broken windows and doors, horrible food. A lot of these party destinations are like this as the hotel owners don't and won't pay out just to have their hotels wrecked by drunk teenagers. His first night on the strip saw one of his mates spiked, another attacked by a bouncer and the third broke his phone and had his wallet stolen. He said if he went again he'd stay further out in a nicer hotel and travel in to the strip for the night life in a taxi. He looks dreadful today, full of cold, probably still hungover, exhausted and dirty.

That sounds bloody awful! Although totally what I expected. I think we'll go see our local independent travel agents and see what they suggest. They're pretty good generally.

I have seen what UK late teens can do to accommodation even when they aren't drunk all the time. Don't expect anything decent, as mentioned it doesn't make sense.

Also remind him that travel insurance doesnt work when pissed, drugged or on a moped.

My 17 yr old ds went to laganas in zante this year, basically magalluf in Greece I think. There were 7 of them and they booked through a travel agent. The apartments were only 2 star but got quite a good rating on trip advisor. Overall it was quite expensive for what they got and I think they would have got a better deal booking the flight and accommodation separately but it was easier for them to go into the travel agency.
He had a good time although one of the boys got mugged which was such a shame. Despite all the mums telling them to stay together they seemed to split up at the end of the night and this is what happened. I was really worried about it but glad he's been now and had the experience. Ideally they would go to a cultural city but highly unlikely, probably be magalluf, zante or Ibiza. My niece is just back from Ibiza and said it was very expensive for drinks, nightclubs etc.
