My 16yr old DD wants to watch the new minions movie, however I've never seen any of the minions movies and worried it is too inappropriate based on some pictures I've seen shared around social medias. I've included some pictures in case anyone is unsure what I'm referencing. Do I let her go???

Point of detail, the new release is Despicable Me 3. There has only been one film in the Minions series.

Useful site for film classification: www.bbfc.co.uk

Despicable Me was the family film in the biggest prime time slot of the year (Christmas Day afternoon) and merchandising aimed for preschooler is absolutely everywhere, so my flabbier is ghasted that anyone could get this so wrong.

You're doing your daughter a disservice if she can't see a children's film without permission.

From the way you described her, she has no real world nouse and is not at all streetwise, which means that when she flies your nest, she'll have trouble coping in the real world.

Excuse me, i said they were memes ages ago!

WhatToDoAboutThis2017, all I said about her was that I've tried to raise her to be kind to others? You cannot make a fully informed judgement about others from that little bit of information. She's extremely independent, she's had a job for a year, she's studying at college, she has friends and a boyfriends who she regularly sees on the weekend, all I was concerned about was whether she would become rude and hateful! You shouldn't make stupid comments about my daughter considering you've never met either of us. GoodbyeSmile

I didn't want her beautiful personality and care for others to be ruined by this movie!

You've got bigger problems if you believe the values you instilled in your daughter for 16 years can be easily swayed by a movie,be it minions or zombies.

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 09/07/2017 14:20

Just saw this, horribly violent, blood everywhere kind of movie.

The first two were basically kids films but since quentin tarantino has taken the helm they've been givena a new edgy twist.

RebelRogue · 09/07/2017 14:20

From watching a movie?! It's a cinema not a brain control machine.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 09/07/2017 14:21

They're not stupid comments; they're entirely valid based on the information provided.

She can't have a lot of social nouse or be streetwise if she has to ask permission to see a children's film.

This is hilarious.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 09/07/2017 14:28

So if she's spent a year at college she must be very nearly 17 😳

user1499604508 · 09/07/2017 14:29

She didn't ask permission to see the film all the mother did was raise concerns over the film? There's a difference, stop being so hateful and assuming she isnt "streetwise", the two things are completely unrelated?!

user1499603047 · 09/07/2017 14:29

Indeed she is, she's watching the movie for her birthday actually

user1499604508 If you think anything that's been said on this thread is "hateful", you must be a very delicate little flower.

user1499603047 · 09/07/2017 14:39
