Tranexamic acid for heavy period

I recently posted about DD going on a school trip and I got lots of fab advice regarding managing her period while away. I went to gp today hoping to get norethisterone to delay it but he said it wasn't licensed for children so prescribed tranexamic acid. Can anyone tell me how well this works at reducing the bleeding?

It works well for me, v heavy periods here.

She will need to take them as early as possible on day 1 iirc, I don't think I've ever needed them past day 3.

I find it to be very effective. It reduces my periods from nightmarish to moderate. I'm in my 40s though. You have to take it regularly, ideally from the day before your period starts. I don't always get any warning signs, so I start taking it as soon as it starts. It still works but kicks in a few hours later.

Yes, like Heidi ,I only need it for the first few days.
