School Trip

My 14 year old DS wants to go on a school trip to Alton Towers. My initial reaction was absolutely not, given the tragic incident last year. He is pestering me - "ALL his friends are going". Anyone had anything similar?

People get run over every day, I assume he's still allowed to walk near roads?

I would just be glad that he didn't go on a school trip before the tragic accident - it will be a much safer place now
