DD is trying to sort out a package holiday with 2 friends for the summer. They can't go before the school holiday starts. Any tips for how to find something that's cheap but will be what it appears to be online? They're not sure where to start & I don't have current knowledge.

I think in the school hols it's often cheapest to diy. Sky scanner anywhere or look at companies such as Norwegian for cheap flights. Then book accommodation via booking.com or similar. Local transport from airport to destination or taxi.
Do you know where they want to go? A lot of packages are expensive this year because of so many no go zones.
Another option is to look at European festivals such as sziget.

Thank you Mary that's helpful. They were looking at Zante but were quoted a higher price when they rang to book...

Book flights through easyJet or another budget airline; airbnb or Expedia for hotel/accommodation. Bus or taxi to and from airport.
