Good board games for Teenagers!

Does anyone have any recommendations for good board games for teenagers?! We went away at half term somewhere with no wifi so we played Cluedo in the evenings and my kids (12 and 14) really enjoyed it. Just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions which I could get as a family christmas present? We already have Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit (now seems out of date) and Uno.

If they have more than a passing interest in World War II, I'd strongly recommend 'Axis and Allies'. I understand that there are now various versions of it - go for the 1941 edition as an introduction.

For us (boy and girl, same age gap as yours) it was great for combining strategy and chance, but also acted as a signpost to reading/watching more factual things about the war.

Ticket to Ride is quite fun, as is Pandemic (the players work together to defeat a disease). Pandemic can be a bit tricky at first but lots of fun and a great way to work together as a family.

Also Dobble is a great quick game that we have found recently.

DC are now 18 and 20 and Ticket to Ride has been played with consistently in our house for many years. It comes out every Christmas and Easter if not in between and we have 2 or 3 versions of it.

The whole family loves Rummikub and can play for hours! Ages range from 10 - 70yrs

I love Hive, which is a strategy game for 2 people.
Perudo is popular with the boys.
This year I have purchased games called Exploding kittens and Latice. Both have very good reviews on Amazon. Ive also bough the Harry Potter trivial pursuit pack.

do you like card games? In our family we play wizard and five crowns regularly.

Love Dixit, even though DD trounces me regularly.

DD happily plays monopoly, rummikub, Game of Life and good old cards.

7 Wonders has been a big hit with my teens and their cousins.

Also, for a fast moving and very portable but less totally-absorbing game, Bananagrams is good.

Risk is popular with my ds and friends.

I would recommend love letter and sushi go.

And "Munchkin" but that is for super geeks, I can't get my head around it!

They're a bit too young for Cards Against Humanity, no?

Bananagrams is good. We also like cranium. We have the family edition which is great for all ages but I'm planning to get the normal version for Christmas.

We also enjoy Articulate and Carcassonne

ANkh morpork if they are in the slightest discworld inclined. A gain when each player has a different definition of " win". It's utterly devilish but not hard.

Dixit is good but not for families - if you know each other welland think the same it gets predictable and dull.. it is however great to play with then and their boyfriends / girlfriends.

Cards against humanity is really for 15+ to play with their friends. Never ever play it with them. It is not a good bonding excercise :)

Played a game based on the firefly tv series at new year. Probably good but I have not idea about the series so didn't enjoy it.

Balderdash and Articulate are both really good!

Another vote for ticket to ride. We play it loads here. I recently discovered the Colt Express where you have to try and steal loot on a train. That's great fun.

'Tension' is a favourite with adults and kids here. It gets really intense sometimes but in a funny way.

My dds 14, 19 & 21 love the games you're already playing as well as Risk, Backgammon and all manner of card games from Black Jack to Bridge.

My Mum plays a lot of Scrabble with my 17 year olds.

We love Articulate and also Initial Reacton. We discovered 5 Second Rule last Christmas, a great family game but has been taken to teenage parties and turned into a drinking game!
