Bra fitting for teens

Where's the best place to go? Dd is nearly 14, has been wearing a 30DD but they are too small now.

I was thinking maybe Bravissimo? Can she wear underwired yet?

My teens just HATE the very idea of a stranger measuring them and helping them find a bra to fit. They much prefer to use bra guru to get a pretty accurate measure themselves, then off to any local shop to try on bras in the right size, in private.

It was like a revelation when we first came across it - dd1 couldn't believe how much more comfortable she was.

DD hated the idea of getting measured too. On the off chance when we were shopping with a friend and her mum we wandered into Boux Avenue. The young girls in there were great with them (Saturday so younger assistants there) and they were both measured and fitted with some lovely bras. We always go there now - especially when there's a half price sale.

Boux Avenue fan here too Dd needed fitting and we fortunately stumbled across this shop. They are fab. Treated her with such dignity and have so much time for you. They measure you up in your old bra and go off to find you a lovely selection. You try on each and they check when your ready to ensure fit is correct each time. They advise what is best styles for you. It is so good and bras are wow, so beautiful. Dd now begs us to go there and i was that impressed I got the courage to get sorted myself as been wearing same design for 15 years . Dd was gutted with me having more new bras than her that we have had to promise to take her back as shop is 1.5 hours away!
Lovely changing rooms too with crystal handles and staff seem so nice.

Actually we found M&S very good. The staff were helpful and discrete and DD was quite happy about it

Box Avenue and M&S tend to add 4/5" to the underbrush measurement so best to avoid on the fitting thing! However BA do stock 30 bands so are worth a visit as long as you can check the fit yourself. Bravissimo is probably the best bet though.

Where do you find unwired,unpadded bras?M&S are hopeless and as dd is growing online ordering is too hit and miss.We just need nice,simple bras but am finding them hard to find locally.We are going up to Leeds next week so may have more choice but would appreciate any recommendations there.

Asda sell basic bras. My DD gets hers either Asda or primark. She has never been measured, she started at a 28A and gradually worked her way up. Anytime she has grown a bit we just go and try on a few styles and sizes to get the right fit. I haven't paid attention to bra sizes myself in years. I just buy what fits.

We found john Lewis the best place and measures but I really do believe it's down to the individual fitter as well. Had a good experience at m&s but then a useless one with fitting.

However all have dealt with DD well and managed the blushes etc etc.

Once she is measured up, it's worth checking out Brastop They have good sales and free returns. DD, a 15 year old 30DD, finds it far less stressful to order a pile, try them on at home then send back the rejects. You get more time to try them on and you can try clothes over them.

Our latest order was 3 for her, 2 for me, all bought in a £10 sale. We are sending one back each.
