Withdrawn, uncommunicative, overweight, addicted to Xbox

My son is 14 and all of the above. He is a sweet-natured boy, but I simply don't know what to do with him in the holidays as he won't communicate with me at all. Help!

On a positive note, he has good friends at school and seems to speak to them, so I am not totally in despair.

He has shown a very slight interest in finding a personal trainer. Any ideas about how I can find the right person who won't destroy his confidence and is OK if he doesn't speak at all?!

I think the key here is your ds having good friends at school, meaning he'll have some confidence. The only thing I can say having a 16yo also addicted to gaming, is that they usually do eventually come out of it, usually when they discover girls.

Great idea about the personal trainer if he's open to it, best way to find one is through personal recommendation if that's possible.

I had all but given up on my ds with one of the most severe gaming addictions i have ever seen. This summer he was bribed to go on a group trip abroad for his year. Not only is he out of his dungeon, he's met his first girlfriend. I'm hoping she's not keen on xbox....

Download pokemon go and send him out walking to 'catch em all' . It has got us out walking much more. I did bribe ds with ice cream from the shop too though!
