Nocturnal teens

In the holidays, what time do your late teens get up and go to bed? Ds bedtime gets later and later and then he's sleeping half the day.

I don't mind a lie in but put my foot down at him sleeping beyond lunchtime.

DS1(20) is bad. He was still up at 0345 yesterday but got up around 11am. He actually only seems to need about 6/7 hours sleep it's just that he inhabits a different time zone.
He's home from uni and an adult so I try to resist don't comment.
He does some part time work and is looking for more, works staggeringly hard at uni and getting great results.

DS2 (18) needs more sleep and is often in bed by 10pm. When he has a late night he will still be up by noon.

It's frustrating when you want them to do something or go somewhere but, to be fair, if I tell them the day before they will get up.

I leave them to it now, as both my older two work shifts that sometimes involve them getting up before 5, and sometimes not finishing until 10, so I reckon they can catch up when they are not doing anything else.

Before they were working, I tended to wake them up around midday.

In Sixth Form, on holiday now, 2am ish to bed, noon up.

DS 16 went to bed at 1.45
Slept until 1.30pm and then got up and went to hunt Pokemon.

Yes ds19 and dd17 are both living in a different time zone. No matter how many times I go on at them about wasting the day lying in bed after being up till sometimes 3am, it makes no difference. It's the holidays I suppose so although I hate it and it drives me nuts, they aren't doing any harm are they?

Mine are 15 and 17. Both going to sleep after midnight (could be a lot later and 17yo might be out with friends till later) and up any time between 10 and 2. But they will get up early if there is a proper reason - if we/they are going somewhere.

I don't really care what time they go to bed/get up - why does it bother you, OP?

Dd 18 has been driving for a year. I used to wait up till she got home but ended up a zombie as bedtime now seems to be around 4am. I just leave my phone on at night.
