Holiday periods

My non-identical twin daughters are both due on their periods next holiday time, which will involve lots of water-centred activities in the Greek islands. One uses tampons, no probs, other says urgh, no way. Both started early (same day, would you believe.) periods since age ten & half; both want to skip the holiday period - last time it happened, pretty much ruined their holiday. I would like to know, how easy is it to get something prescribed from the doctor, have heard good things about Norethisterone, does anyone have experience of this?

I think it would be very difficult for a non medical reason. I have heard of a 13 year old being prescribed something for whilst she was on a school trip to Borneo I think it was but not for a holiday.

My dd takes stuff for excessively heavy periods & there are side effects. She nor I would ever risk a tampon in water. We are just too heavy.

Dd took it about that age. Was fine. She then didn't take it a year later and period came unexpectedly so she spent 3 days in a foul mood wrapped in a towel.

My personal thought was that dd was, like your girls, an early and established cycle, although hers varied in gap between they were consistent

Last summer aged 16 she took the pill for 2 consecutive packets to get thru NCS and a holiday.

My gp gave it with no hesitation

Our GP gave it to us for dad 3 years ago when we were going to Florida.

Yeah readily available - GP shouldn't have an issue.

We got it prescribed for my dd when she was going on a school trip last year when she was 13 and a half.

I will absolutely be introducing DD to this when appropriate. I can't believe it took me so long to discover it. In fact I need to make this year's GP appointment...
