Really painful cramps

My daughter has been complaining of really bad cramps her last few periods. She started her period at 11 and is now 18 and has never experienced cramps before. She says that they are so painful she can't even move at times.

Should I be worried? Or is this normal?

I don't think it's anything to worry about, I started my period young too and only started getting cramps when I was in my twenties. They were very consistent for about a year and now sometimes I'll get cramps, sometimes I won't. They make tablets specifically for period pains now, buy some of those and get a hot water bottle and that will probably help.

I'd ask your daughter if she feels she needs to worry about them. Shes 18, she should be more than capable of taking care of herself and taking appropriate actions. :)
