DS has a good friend who is a girl. They go out most weekends - shopping/cinema/beach etc he's also slept over her house. Am I kidding myself that they're just friends?

How old are they?

Bit of a difficult one. All my DC have close friends of the opposite sex that will never be more than friends but they have also introduced me to "friends" that were actually more than friends.

They're both 14

Not unusual. Both of my boys have had friends who are girls. DS1's longest best friend is a girl and she gets on well with his girlfriend.
