What age can you leave DD home alone?

How old is DD? How sensible is she? Where are you going to be and how long for?

What sparkling said... that's really a 'how long is a piece of string' question. There's no legal age you can suddenly leave children, so it's all going to be based on how old, how long, how trustworthy and how happy they are to be left.

There isn't a legal age - it's all about 'reasonable judgement' and 'risk assessment'.

How long for
How far away will parents be
Can they access a phone if need be
How old is the dd
Have they been left before for shorter spells
Is there a trustworthy neighbour they would be confident enough to go to if needed

etc.etc.etc. So many different ponderables

My OH and I have to balance this all the time as we are both lone parents of teenagers / young adults and don't live together. Two of the teenagers have additional needs.

There just can't be a set rule. It's about context and risk.
