16th birthday

It doesn't seem that long ago that I was asking about advice for potting training, them primary school, then I blinked and hey it's 16th birthday party.

I want to organise a small party and was thinking about hiring a narrow boat, for DS' 16 th. That way I could ensure numbers are kept low. Had anyone ever hired a narrowb oat for a party and am I being crazy for even thinking it?

How many would you be inviting? I don't know anything about narrow boats but would they be enclosed and inside all the time and is it safe?

Its a bit different anyway.

We just had a family meal for ds and dd wasn't bothered so went out for a pizza with her mates.

Lots of 16 year old parties involve alcohol whether you like it or not. Both of mine went to lots of house parties where they just seem to sit around and put the world to rights in a teenage angsty sort of way.
The done thing was to take a bottle of cider. Some took more but we compromised on one bottle.
I would be careful not to mix alcohol and boats.

I went to a party this summer which was on a canal boat that does day trips. My friend hired it for the evening and we went for a 3 hour trip up the canal and back again. We had party food and a glass of pressecco when you boarded and could buy drinks. However this boat is set out in tables and chairs and I think the capacity was about 50. Think it's a charity so the crew were volunteers. It was a pleasant evening.
