Sooo frustrated y/day. I wanted to buy 2 tickets for my daughters 18th in Jan, her fav band is Bring Me The Horizon and they will be at the Royal Albert Hall in April. Went on the website and it said tickets go on sale at 9am on the 4th Dec. So I sat ready, 9am box says tickets on sale so CLICK! It immediately told me I was in a waiting room and was number 3,888! So whilst watching the screen I rang the RAH and it was engaged.......permanently............after an hour I was still 986 in the queue, it then said SORRY THIS CONCERT IS NOW SOLD OUT! So frustrating and disappointing...................any tips please?

You could try having two browsers open at once and constantly refreshing but for big gigs it is very difficult. I sometimes use soldoutgigs.co.uk/ (this band aren't on it yet but probably will be soon) or StubHub. Generally there will be people who can't go nearer the time who will sell their tickets through agencies or eBay. It's easier with smaller venues I find.

Hi I found Getmein.com they say their tickets aren't going on sale until the 4th January, same concert! Have set up an email alert with them requesting 2 at any price! Fingers x`d!

In the future start refreshing the page from 8.57 for a 9 am start

triplets · 07/12/2015 00:24

I will try that next time, thank you :)

I'd suggest two browsers too and maybe a dh trying to buy at the same time. I tried getting CarFest tickets but was not sucessful. However i was sucessful with Mumford & Sons which sold out under 7 minutes!

Concert tickets are a nightmare!! We had two computers and iPad logged in (different concert), refreshed before time and crossed our fingers!! We were lucky.

triplets · 08/12/2015 22:49

Had an e-mail today from Getmein.com offering the tickets, showed they were available..............3 x`s the price!! Cheapest they offered were £220 each!! Couldn't even think about it at that price! Shock

Closer to the date keep an eye on all ticket sites and the RAH site too if they sell tickets directly, production seats are often released nearer to the time once the stage set up has been finalised.

BettyBlueToo · 09/12/2015 22:38

Prices will be cheaper nearer the time. Check Twitter and FB fan pages for people selling them. Last resort is touts on the night really, but haggle!

BettyBlueToo · 09/12/2015 22:39

I needed an extra ticket for Marina and the diamonds a few weeks back, they were £70 on sites a month ahead but £28 the night before the gig. Don't give up!

Join the fan website and you may get presales

You've made me realise I was really lucky getting my ds and 4 of his friends BMTH tickets for their Cardiff concert last month!

I was waiting for the magic 9am and got them no probs. It was my first ever concert ticket buying experience. Good to know that it might not be that easy in the future.

Good luck!!! They had a blast! They are only 14 and i was a bit worried they might get squashed! But they came out buzzing Smile I went in for he last 5 mins as they were lax on the door at that point and it was so loud my ribs rattled!!!

BestIsWest · 12/12/2015 21:03

Another tip is that sometimes companies like O2 will do a pre sale and O2 customers can buy tickets in advance of the main sale. You just need to either find someone with an O2 phone to get the code or buy an O2 SIM card.

BestIsWest · 12/12/2015 21:05

I've also had to sell tickets for a gig because I couldn't go and sold them for half price the day before on Seatwave. I was gutted.

SausagesAndMashed · 15/12/2015 22:41

In the weeks running up to the concert, check Twickets.co.uk regularly. Tickets are sold at face value or below, so you can avoid paying extortionate amounts to ticket touts.

FourStarDragonBall · 05/02/2016 18:54

There is a secret actually. Spamming refresh until the tickets are first released and also checking stubhub. Especially close the event date

bebumba · 06/02/2016 10:47

Hi, don't know if you were able to get tickets for the RAH, if you didn't there are tickets available for The O2 later in the year.

LadyBaelish · 06/02/2016 14:14

Yep, multiple browsers and lots of refreshing is the best way to go! This is probably just chance but I usually find I get through on Ticketmaster much quicker than Seetickets. And if you don't mind buying from resale sites like Seatwave, prices usually come down in the week before the event as people try to shift their spares and not be entirely out of pocket.

triplets · 06/02/2016 22:20

Hi all sorry didn't get notification I had had more replies. We bought two tickets for their concert in Nov at the O2 lot cheaper too! So one happy young girl :)
