Ask a teen

I'm an eighteen year old boy who's just discovered Mumsnet, and thought it'd be interesting to offer you all a chance to ask a teenager anything you want.

What's the meaning of life?

bloodyteenagers · 31/10/2015 02:39

Scrap that.
What do you want for dinner?

catsofa · 31/10/2015 02:42

Are you still at school/college? If so, if someone in your class had been gay, would they have had a hard time or been bullied?

Askateen · 31/10/2015 02:42

Well to answer both of your questions, the meaning of life is what you make of it.

And I've already eaten today thanks.

Catsofa

I'm in sixth form, and in my class there'd be no problem whatsoever with coming out gay. I myself have come out as asexual ages ago and not had a problem with it. I think people are getting more progressive. Then again, I can only speak for my school and my local area.

In other schools close to where I live, I'd go so far as saying coming out is a fashion trend.

"And I've already eaten today thanks."
Based on my own experience of teenage boys, this answer is highly suspicious. Grin

Honestly, the question I seem to ask 'my' teenagers most often is "what the actual fuck were you thinking?" If I ever get a coherent answer to that, I'll be impressed.

bloodyteenagers · 31/10/2015 02:54

I could have got the same answers from Siri

Where can I go to an underground club in about 20 hours?

Askateen · 31/10/2015 02:56

Well it is rather late is it not? I had a lovely family meal actually, we went to a lovely Kurdish place, and I had tons of lamb.

Well right now I thought I'd try answering a few questions on mumsnet.

Well I don't know where the clubs are around you exactly. My advice would be to go to the great big concrete building that says "Underground Club." Or failing that ask Siri, she seems to know the answers.

Eh it's not late.. It's still early..

Askateen · 31/10/2015 03:06

Can't argue there.

I have my own 6th form attending teen to ask. Smile

thornrose · 31/10/2015 10:29

You do realise lots of us have a teen or two of our own? Confused

WorraLiberty · 31/10/2015 10:30

What is it with Mumsnet and so called teenagers lately?

The last time this thread was done, it was a 'teenage girl', who turned out to be a PBP anyway.

yeOldeTrout · 31/10/2015 10:58

Why do you think it's adequate preparation in life to just have a clutch of GCSEs and no other qualifications, plans or ambitions?

ARRRGGGGHHHHHH.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 31/10/2015 11:02

A) I have my own teenagers to ask, but thanks

B) I was 18 once! I know all the answers

yeOldeTrout · 31/10/2015 11:06

No no no, TT&T01: when you were 18 you knew all the answers, like all teenagers.
Now you're a fusty old clueless parent.

Tis the way of the world.

smileyforest · 31/10/2015 12:06

As the suffering parent of teenage boys who smoke weed and in the past tried 'other' stuff...I now have one who is mentally ill with a drug induced pyschosis...don't know if he will get better....early days yet! Why do teens do drugs ??? We warn of the dangers ....What is your general outlook on life...what future do you hope for????

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 31/10/2015 14:32

Sad but true Trout

smileyforest · 31/10/2015 18:53

If its a 'real' teen.....
