Yes! This isn't new science but it surely does explain a lot.

When I'm queen o the world I plan to raise the minimum legal driving age to 23 (with exemptions for a tiny minority of special cases).

My DCs' school has partnered with a long term research study on this topic, and teachers have incorporated many best practices in executive function into their approach. I personally think it is too little too late for many teens, and most of the focus on executive function needs to be done in primary school. The focus on ability and attainment instead of solid work habits for all is incredibly damaging.
