I'm not sure what to do as my dd's best friend keeps crying in public..(i.e. at parties/out shopping etc) She is an unusual girl anyway but sometimes she just says she's sad and tears roll down her face. ALWAYS in public! Is it for attention... should I do or say anything? I'm worried. There have been incidences over the past years when her behaviour has been odd.

Have you spoken to her mum about it?

I know someone at work who does this. It stems from depresssion and she knows she is doing it. She asks people just to ignore it not mention it.

I sounds similar, maybe ask your daughter if she has spoken to her mother. She probably needs to see her doctor.

I haven't spoken to her mother because my daughter asked me not to interfere! Should I do it anyway? It does sound similar to your friend Blueblue sea. If she is asked what's wrong though - she bursts into floods of tears and says she's sad. The she is laughing in the next breath.
