How much alcohol to allow nearly 14yo on holiday?

We're on hols now. Dd1 (14 in Sept) asks for alcohol every evening at the moment. She started asking for sips of wine/beer and we allowed her to have a stumpy bottle of beer last night. She seems very interested with the idea of drinking, in what I think is a slightly unhealthy way.
She's very mature in some ways but seems quite immature in others & we're used to the sulks and bouts of unreasonableness.
We've talked to her about drink and asked her if she's just desperate to 'get' or 'be' drunk - she shrugs and says she's aware of the consequences (via us and school). She just seems to think it's very glamorous. How much should we ignore, how much should we allow, he much should we prevent?

Btw I was a complete eedjit at her age, drinking in secret and behaving dreadfully. I lived with my dad and was quite feral. Dd1 doesn't know this (about the drinking) but I'm terrified she'll think it's big and clever like I did.

None.

A child of 13 should not be drinking any alcohol.

At 16 we were allowed a small glass of wine with evening meals on holidays and special occasions but that was it.
I don't know if I will even allow that for DS (8).

Ds is 14, he tried champagne at his bra dad's 70th, one swig and dipped his finger in his dad's Guinness froth when he was 10. No way is he allowed a proper glass of anything .

I live the way kids try it on on holiday about all sorts of things, mine does tooGrin

I wouldn't allow a 13 year old a full drink but would allow a shandy or small glass of wine/cider with food.

For background my parents were very liberal with alcohol. I've only been sick falling over drunk once and DP and I have an extensive alcohol cabinet at home.

Id be trying to get to the bottom of "who" she's trying to impress.

I always allowed my DC's a (watered down ) glass of wine with meals or a small bottle of beer, again with a meal from the age of 13 onwards. They are all now virtually teetotal whereas me and DH were heavily restricted as children (one glass of sherry at New Year type) and have always drunk more as adults. Purely anecdotal I know.....

At 14, as much as they want.

It generally it lasted one night!

Then I was triumphant!!!!

We allowed ours to have those stumpy bottles of beer, that have a low alcohol content, from when they were 13 when we were on holiday and on special occasions.

They are 18&20 now, are yet to come home puking, stinking drunk unlike the vast majority of their friends.
