Looking for somewhere good for my 13 year old to get her ears pierced....

Hi all ... just rung Cold Steel who seem to get rave reviews only to learn they won't pierce under 16s.... and scared me rather by saying how much damage they seen on young ears pierced with a gun (as well as being wonky cos ears still growing), and that no one reputable does under 16s.

Any idea where I can take DD where they're good and use needles?

Any other advice or tips ... realise I didnt get mine done til 16 so feels like virgin territory!

Maybe you should think about what the piercers said. If they, a reputable piercer, did not touch clients under 16 maybe your daughter should hold off a few years in order to get her ears done by a really good piercer who cares about their customers. As they say, your daughters ears are still growing.

Hi guys... I agree... scared but still thinking of doing.... its not as if there aren't masses of kids and teenagers with pierced ears....

My (younger than 13) had her ears pierced with a gun at a proper piercing place (ie not Claire's or similar)
It was fine.

Why not ask her friends mums where they went if they have pierced ears?

My suggestion is to only go somewhere where they use solid titanium.

To be honest,having had piercings myself with gun and needle,for lobe piercings I would go for gun.
And I did...

got my daughters done at Claire's when she was about 6... they've been fine for 12 years and never infected - just need to take good care of them and follow the instructions during healing :)
