So DD didn't get a card as "Its pointless as would be with your money anyhow". Begrudgingly made me a cup of tea then said she's leaving home where she won't be harassed Hmm .
Bless !

I was rather impressed this year - DS is training in Brecon Beacons but managed to haul himself to the post office and posted me tons of chocolates and a soppy card (my hysterical meltdown at getting 0 last year obviously hit a nerve!)

ggirl · 15/03/2015 14:22

My ds is 12 and I asked him for a coffee , he said do I take the bag out like with tea Hmm , needs intense training I think.
I have just asked him to take the dog out ..lasted half the usual time cos he needed loo. Now he's hoovering around my feet while simultaneoulsy shoving jaffa cakes in his mouth.
dh at work and dd at uni ..think he's feeling slightly sorry for himself lol

RJnomore · 15/03/2015 14:24

My 15yo did come down and ask me if I wanted to do something today.

I know she's got loads of homework so I declined.

LynetteScavo · 15/03/2015 14:28

DS2 didn't realise it was Mother's Day, as he's now at high school and they didn't tell him apparently. Grin Unlike primary where they make a card in school. He asked DS1 for some money this morning and went and bought me a card and a packet of M&Ms.

Joyfulldeathsquad · 15/03/2015 14:30

I'd do the same on her birthday.

Fling your arms about, begrudgingly throw a card and see how she like it Grin

tigersack · 15/03/2015 14:33

My eldest got me a bottle of wine last night before going to her boyfriends. Also text me this morning.
Next dd at uni not heard from her
Next ds at home not surfaced from room yet
Youngest (teen) got me yankee candle tealights and said happy mothers day this morning
Okay result. Happy!

stinkingbishop · 15/03/2015 14:54

3 year old twins got me Lord Cumberbatch in the Imitation Game. They may have had some assistance. And some cards that they'd artistically cut into pieces as we're learning about being safe-with-scissors.

21 year old yet to acknowledge anything. In fairness she had a party last night so may be recovering. I'm giving her till 7pm before calling...

Cocolepew · 15/03/2015 15:05

DD2 is 13 and told me yesterday that her 3rd gift for me (after card and present), was that she was staying in bed until the afternoon.
She got woken at 10.30 and has had the tv or music blaring since then .
Ive told her I was very disappointed that she couldn't stay true to her word.
Grin

RedRugNoniMouldiesEtc · 15/03/2015 15:14

My ds has signed his sisters card (she isn't a teen yet so still has the ability to plan ahead Grin) teendd has given me the gift I bought myself and gave to her because I wanted it and dfs has yet to emerge. They are all being lovely though which is enough for me luckily

Travelledtheworld · 15/03/2015 15:56

DD made me a nice card but refused to even bring me a cup of tea in bed. DS just ignored the date. Sad.

Faithope · 15/03/2015 16:21

Got a card and a broken tatty teddy photo holder, unwrapped, no packaging, once he dragged himself up at 2pm Sad

300Bananas · 15/03/2015 17:27

I got a text from DD saying sorry she forgot about mothers day but that she loved me. I guess I should be thankful for that.

Emily34austin · 15/03/2015 18:36

Great aren't they Shock. I was hoping DD might tidy up to make up for the lack of any effort no such luck. I might remember this come her birthday ;-) but I know I never would.

Mine stayed in bed until 4.30 which meant she's had no time to fight with her sister and I've had a really peaceful day!

ChillySundays · 15/03/2015 22:48

tigersack - I am a wine drinker and my DD loved the fact she could go and buy me a bottle the Mothers Day after she turned 18.

DS1(20) is just coming up to the end of his Phase 2 army training. He has been living in a hole all week so there was no way he could post a card. He did ring this morning, told me if it wasn't for me and my support he wouldn't be where he is now, I'm the best and he loves me.

DS2(18) has pulled out all the stops. He bought a Pandora charm between him and DS1, got me loads of daffodils, brought me breakfast in bed and made me cry with what he wrote in my card. He, also, made me a peach and raspberry upside down cake.

I am so lucky to have my boys.

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 15/03/2015 23:01

awww Dixie

that's sweet

it's a big boy who admits to being a dick OH never does and he's 49

Blossomflowers · 16/03/2015 15:41

DS 2 brought me cups of tea and a bacon buttie in bed, a lovely card, An Orchid and chocs. Whilst I was lounging in bed, he cleaned the kitchen and we then went for a lovely walk. DS1 who is 24 and works met for lunch which we paid for not even a card. Ho hum
