DS's friends taking drugs

My DS told me about some of his mates smoking cannabis. From what he says some of the parents have found out. One of them doesn't know judging from the conversation I had with one of the mums a couple of days ago.

WWYD? I don't want my DS to stop talking to me but at the same time the mum should know. Also is it it some the of boys pretending to try and look cool

I wouldn't say anything to the parents. The majority of teens try it. I would only interfer if it got serious. Your relationship with your s is far more important. Telling their parents will alienate your s from his friends. Not stop his friends smoking it and cause your son not talk to you.

Heyho - that is what I am thinking to be honest but I wasn't sure if that was reasonable. I am sure some parent will think the opposite.

I did once say to a parent about something else connected with girls sending pics of themselves to some of the boys. She left it a few days and then said to her son about reading an article so as not to land me or my DS in it but I couldn't be sure that all parents would be that considerate.

I personally wouldnt make a fuss about smoking joints if that's all it is. ime most teenagers try it and most don't bother with it for long and don't move onto anything else. I have however seen people whose parents hiy the roof, grounded them, banned them from certain friends etc where this led to a "fuck you" type of response and they then got into drugs in a more serious way.

I don't want to know about my DS unless someone thinks something unless it is becoming a problem.

If these subjects come up I always say something along the lines of 'as far I am aware' rather than 'my DS definitely doesn't' so that other parents aren't saying how stupid I am

Have found out my 14 year old doing weed . From reading his Facebook messages it started sept and has become more regular and it shows who he is buying it from and how much and who he is sharing it with . I have called community police to give him a taking to. Have the same issue as you regarding friends etc. However they are using it every weekend .

I hope the police is enough to scare him. My DS is 16 and so are his mates and although I still don't agree with it they are slightly older than your DS.

I have no issues with trying it. I tried it once when I was younger but it was the once.

He is blaming it on friends. Spilt from his dad September and there are issues .stbxh will not firm up contact as drinking and clubs are more fun. Gf is more interesting and new life wonderful. Son knows I am on my own. Not sure completey where money is coming from and just so stressed.
