I'm so proud and excited. It's a really good article. She's going to sing at a charity night to help raise money in memory of my son (her brother) Christopher. I've had to upload it to my website as I can't get it to work any other way www.kipskabin.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=347
If you click the link and then click enlarge image it should come up really well!

I've been really tempted to write to Sharon Osbourne as we really want to make a CD for the fund but I don't know where to start! Del I could email it to you if you can't get it to work if you like. Email me at [email protected]

Can I dive in and be really cheeky.

Sarah is holding a fundraiser and Katherine will be singing> anyone fancy buiying a ticket for the evening or buying a raffle ticket. Sarah hasw a link for donations- sorry for doing this but K really has a lovely voice.

DelGirl · 23/09/2006 22:01

Thanks, that worked. My mum was born and grew up in Leicester and alot of my relatives are still there. My aunt worked as a nurse at the infirmary and my dad knew Bill Maynard. Small world isn't it?

Pixiefish · 23/09/2006 22:02

DelGirl- fab opportunity for a nostalgic trip down memory lane if you visited the concert

Sarahx2005 · 23/09/2006 22:03

Yeah it is a small world. My Dad is mates with Bill too. Yes I'd love you all to come as Pixie says it would be great. I realise that many of you live too far away though.

and to you Sarah. I have to say now I have dd, the pain of losing a child must be utterly unbearable. Not that it wasn't painful losing my dh of course but I don't think i'd cope with losing a child at all

Pixiefish · 23/09/2006 22:12

delgirl- i think Sarah is so very utterly and absolutely brave.

Sarahx2005 · 23/09/2006 22:15

It's pretty grim I have to say. Can't make sense of it and it breaks my heart the suffering he went through. I have to say though I'm very blessed to have given birth to him and to have known him, he was a very special, very brave and very loving little boy.

your poor little angel seeing what my dh went through I can just about imagine what it must have been like, it's so so sad, i'm so sorry

DelGirl · 23/09/2006 22:41

I hope i've not upset you Sarah (hugs)

Sarahx2005 · 23/09/2006 22:47

No hunni you've not upset me at all. I love to talk about Christopher. Isobel, our youngest, is learning all about him and she often aske me to tell her about Christopher, anyway I asked her to tell me for a change and she told me a few bits and then said 'Christoher's gone to Devon' I thought that was sooo lovely, out of the mouths of babes

I am touched that Sarah took the time to send an email to thank me after I emailed her to say how lovely her daughter is. Its great that you are able to talk about Christopher without breaking down, and its also lovely that Isobel knows about her big brother.

DS keeps asking if he can go to Heaven, it makes me sad just thinking about it. I tell him that he can't go yet but its hard knowing what to say to him, he is 4.

CarlyP · 23/09/2006 23:52

Just to update you. This was a huge success. Katherine was totally amazing and we raised over £1,400 on the night!! She has also made a cd and all proceeds have gone to the fund and so far we've sold almost £100 copies!! We had a phone call from BBC Radio Leicester last week asking her if she'd go in to do an interview so we are going tomorrow lunchtime!!
It's been a very exciting time and it's really helped to bump up the funds for very worthy causes.
