I am really shaken up

My ds has came in earlier cos some girls have been spitting pop all over my dd.I went across to ask if it was true and the girl who did it laughed at me and said yeah so what right in my face- this is a 9 year old.She was with some older girl who squared up to me and were calling me lots of really disgusting names and swearing at me - in fornt of my kids!
I have just gone out to face more verbal abuse my dh has been out he is 6ft ex rugby player and they have laughed in his face called him a fat barsteward slagged me off to them - is there anything i can do.
I am all for moving we have plans to go but right now i dont want to live here anymore.
Also parents all out but couldnt give a flying fart anyway.

apart from moving to get away form these horrible children, and as you say the parents dont care, little you can do.

its amazing these days what parents feel is an acceptable way to brign there children up. id die of humiliation if one of my boys EVER treated someone like that.

we moved to a small village in the hope of getting out of city/town life and soem of the kids that are there.

p.s. oh for the time the local bobby could give the kids a clip round the ear and take them back to the parents, and for the parents to agree!

Verbal abuse and aggressive behaviour can be issues your local community anti-social behaviour thingummy deals with - not sure if it's the council or the cops you need.

I have called my friend she is local counciller and knows the community support officer,I am waiting to hear from him.I feel sad tonight my child was violated and I could do nothing about it and she didnt get an apology or anything just the opportunity to watch her mum being called every swear you can think of.

We have this problem, dh went and confronted 2 boys in our road who had hit ds1 in the face, dh was treated like crap and told to eff off.
We are putting house up for sale after Xmas.

Oh Joanna, i really feel for you and your family. I don't know if it would be the right thing to do but i know i would definitely move my family away to a different area (of course, not everyone can do this) Really hope you are all feeling a bit better today. It just makes me feel overwhelmingly sad that this is what is happening up and down the country.

Well i have reported it to the police when my dd went back out one of the girls who was visiting the house threatened her with a claw hammer!
I have also reported the whole issue of inappropriate adults looking after children to ss.I sat at work today and i thought well yes i am scared of the family but i am more scared about the safety of my children.That outweighs anything else.

Joanna, good on you for confronting them and reporting it - I almost dread the time when my kids are old enough to go out on their own (they're only 5 and 3 ).

I really feel for you and your family - these kids and their parents are, to put it simply, scum.

Well this is just awful every friday I am like a wreck as I know it will be same old same old.Last week bex was approached by the girl who spat at her and told that the street was off limits to her and she had better remember it.
On a better note yesterday we instructed an estate agent to act for us slept better last night than I have in weeks!

Good luck with moving. remeber, don't get into any rows with your neighbours over this while your house is on the market as I believe you are now obliged to admit to any disputes you have had with your neighbours when you sell the property.

Just hold your head up and don't let on you even hear them. Treat them like they are invisible. They are so far beneath you. How upsetting for you. I would make sure your dd kept clear of them. Not much of a future for these girls.

It is hard for my dd to avoid them my mum lives doors away from us but in next street on so to go to my mums independantly she has to pass them or the house.I will not be telling her to take their advice about steering clear they are council house tenanats and i know there is certain requirements regarding conduct that come with this and I will be taking note.

bit late to add to this, but if they are council tenants, then you can report them to the housing officer who deals with your patch; keep diary sheets. and they will probably have a public safety unit too or somesuch who may take note. threatening iwtha claw hammer is a serious offence - criminal!

Again - a bit late to add a post - been away over half term.

I'm an Officer for my local council - your neighbours will almost certainly be in breach of their Tenancy Agreement as they must not allow their children to cause such a nuisance. Phone the Council immediately and ask to speak to the Tenant Services Officer covering your road. They will more than likely also have an ASB team. If it turns out that the Council doesn't own the hose then they will probably be able to tell you which Housing Association it belongs to.

If other neighbours will also keep diary sheets you will have a stronger case.

You may well find that the children's behaviour improves dramatically once it has been pointed out to the parents that they may face eviction.

Thanks for your advice was just awful on halloween they came but they all had masks on i dint know it was them so i handed out the sweets and the one who spits on bex at any opportunity lifted her mask and gave me a smarmy grin as she walked off down the drive.I could have rammed them down her neck at that moment.

We have passed them in the street twice they have been on their own funny how they dont seem quite so cocky then isnt it.So basically cos they havent had back up we have gone on our way without incident.
