Help! DD plucked her pubic hair!

Help! My DD (12) has attacked her pubic hair with a pair of tweezers and it has now grown back stubbly and the area is red with lots of bumps. We've always stressed that she can do what she wants with the body hair, as it is hers, it is not the fact that she has plucked it that makes me worried, it's how it's grown back. Any advice?

Savlon spray and keep an eye on ingrowing hairs she might need antibiotics (i did it once in my younger days, this will have put her off if the pain didn't!) Once its sorted and you've seen a doc if necessary i'd honestly offer to take her to a salin for a wax.

In growing hair. Sudocrem or other antiseptic cream. I know what you mean about their bodies though.

Ouch. Dd used MY nail scissors to try & cut hers off!

I've told her to use cream instead.

Thank you for replying so fast. I have provided her with sudocreme and helped her exfoliate the area. I'm just glad she told me what she had done! I've bought her some hair removal cream and some razors and showed her what to do with each, if this doesn't work then I will take her to a salon to have a wax. She has very fair hair and very dark pubic hair, which I think makes her feel self conscious . Will also. check for ingrown hairs. What do you think would be the best form of hair removal for someone her age?

I hate the idea of waxing and wet shaving gave me horrible ingrown hairs. My husband got me a cleancut intimate area shaver and trimmer, Google it. Trim the hair short then run the shaver over it. The blades on the shaver are protected so you can't cut yourself so safer and regrowth is better than wet shaving. It's not cheapest option but I love it.Otherwise use a cream but this still gave me ingrown hair.

And yes, I do have teen and in their 20s dds so not unfamiliar with raising daughters but 12 seems so very young. Did she say why she did it?

I'm in awe of her pain threshold! We all do daft things when we're starting out. My mum was super supportive of hair removal but I still wound up shaving my legs in secret the first time. I probably would have got away with it if I hadn't thought I could clean the razor by swiping my bare finger along it (?? Not the brightest crayon in the box, 13 year old me) and bleeding from said finger all over their bathroom carpet! totally their fault for having a carpeted bathroom

She will learn from this and it will make a great 'oh god, what was I thinking' story in the years to come... In the meantime, tell her to stay away from the hair removal for a while and moisturise like her life depends on it!

It does seem unfortunate..why did she do it? And why would she need a wax?
