Hey. My DS needs to start shaving his boy hair. I am not really one to help as in my time we never shaved anywhere. I was thinking of asking him to get waxed but can a 17 year old have a full body wax what other options are available?

Ask his coach.

Or rather, as he's 17, tell him to ask the coach.

DH shaves legsfor cycling & just uses the same recharable-battery shaver as he uses on his face. He is satisfied.

I wouldn't shave his chest or arms as you really don't want stubble or corse gist there. I would suggest waxing those bits.
