Interview clothes

My DD is applying for jobs and apprenticeships as she decided not to go to uni (yet?). They are for web developer/digital media assistant type things and is worried that a standard black suit and blouse would be too drab looking and not right for the "person with the finger on the pulse/zeitgeist" person description the apprentice ads seem to want.

Any advice most gratefully received ( she has long black hair and usually wears black and DM boots or Gothic Lolita clothes depending on her moods).

I'd say I've worked in similar environments to what you describe. I'd always dress smarter for the interview than for the actual job but without being in a full suit and blazer outfit.

I usually go for smart black trousers/ skirt and a colourful, smart but fashionable looking blouse.

I think 'business casual' might be the look I'm trying to describe.

These are similar to what I mean. Hope that helps a bit. Some googling of the company might be able to provide a bit more insight as to the company's image.

Thanks myusername. I think both those sites are good will get her to look at them. I think I'll get her to look at Oasis (offiicewear ) online. She doesn't really have anything in her wardrobe that's suitable - will have to persuade her and buy new

No worries. Interviews are such a minefield, it would be easier if we knew to just wear a suit and tie!

Tell her to look on asos.com as well, they have loads.

she can make it edgier and more "her" with the shoes perhaps? if she can find some smart (prob not DM boots sadly) but unusual shoes?
