DS1 has been applying for advanced apprenticeships, got a couple of interviews, but there aren't many vacancies in the area he is interested in (electronic engineering) so I imagine there are lots of kids chasing each vacancy. Just wanted to know if it is worth him sending out letters and CV to possible employers asking if they would consider taking on an apprentice? Also can an apprenticeship start at any time or does it have to correspond to a college course?
