Hello mothers!

Sorry to bore you but I have a little research project that I have to do for college which requires primary research from a relevant target group (You guys would fall into parents of minors) and was wondering if you would be so kind as to lend a bit of your time and answer some questions in regards to youth crime.

There are 10 questions (don't run please) but they're short and easy to answer I promise.

Also please note this is completely anonymous, I will not be making any personal reference towards any individual. You may also send me a message if you prefer to not post your response publicly on the thread

Thank You.

  1. The current age of criminal liability is 10. Do you agree with this age?

[Y/N]

  1. If No, what age do you think criminal liability should be. (If yes please put N/A)
  1. Do you think the legal system is [Too harsh/Too lenient/Just fine] in regards to sentencing youths (Under 18s)?
  1. Do you think noncustodial (where the defendant is not imprisoned) sentences are effective? [Y/N]
  1. Why do you think youths commit crimes?
  1. In your opinion what do you think is the MAIN problem concerning youth crime?
  1. Do you think the Government is doing enough to curb youth crime?

[Y/N]

  1. If you had to choose, whom do you think needs to do more to curb youth crime?

[Government/Parents/Teachers]

  1. As a mother of a minor what type of criminal activity concerns you the most?
  1. In relation to what you perceive to be countries or states in similar standing to the UK, do you think the UK's youth crime rates are better or worse?

Once again, thank you to those that do respond. I really appreciate it.
