DS1 is 14 and has SN issues, attends a Special School due to ADHD etc. He has been doing really really well this year and I have seen a huge positive change in him.

But....yesterday he was lovely one minute and for no particular reason ten minutes later hated me and thought I was the worlds worst mother! He then retreated to his room and ignored me pretty much for the rest of the day.

This morning I took his breakfast and meds up trying to be nice as everyday should be a fresh start etc. He was ok then when I (nicely) reminded him to take his lunch to school he snapped back that I 'couldn't make him if he didn't want to etc...' I just pointed out he would be hungry then and got on with sorting out the other DC and he stomped off to school.

Is this just having a teenager? He has always been behind his peers socially and emotionally but has had a growth spurt and a few spots etc lately so I wonder if the hormones are kicking in?

He is my eldest by a fair gap as I had him young so this is a bit new to me. Is this how teenage boys can be? And if so how do you react?
