Dd1 has toilet phobia and useally only has to only go to the school until 2.30 on a thursday. This week she is being made to stay till 3.45 pm which means she will be out of the house from 7.00 and till 17.00 pm she is panicking because she is worried she is worried she will need the loo

She will have to either wait or use the toilets at school. It is not healthy to go that long without urinating, does she drink enough? And surely she must stay at school past 2.30 most days?

NoShe is 18 so sixth form and only stays till that time

Does she never use a toilet outside the house?

Is she getting any help for her phobia?

WolfMoon · 19/05/2014 17:00

She needs to get some help. That isn't normal, and could lead to some pretty serious problems in the future.

starships71 · 19/05/2014 17:08

No she's not used a public toilet since she was 12.

I don't mean to sound flippant but there are really only two options aren't there? She uses the school toilet despite her phobia, or she waits until she gets home (like she used to before sixth form presumably).

In the meantime I would suggest talking to your GP because she does need help with this. When she starts working she will be out of the house for even longer hours.

Even if she's out of the house from 7am until 3pm she should have to use the loo. Is she drinking enough or is she deliberately not so that she can avoid the toilet?

I think she needs help with this ASAP. This phobia could lead to serious health issues. The fact that it's been going on for 6 years means it will probably be more difficult to help her but she must get help. How will she cope with a job? At college? Take her to the GP and get help.
