unsociable 14yr old boy

My son, is constantly on his playstation and has lots of school friends playing online,the internet goes off at 10pm on a school night but spends the majority of his weekends in his room.he hasn't got a great relationship with his 6yr old sister, but at times is a sweetheart. Ive tried to talk to him but it always ends in an argument :-(

Is he happy? If so, leave him to it. He's an introvert.

If he's unhappy, then there is a problem.

he is playing with friends, if they are all playing online together i doubt there would be anyone for him to play out with, online is the new social

Many thanks for your comments, I think I will have to ride the storm, I know he's okay but feel the internet is the root to a lot of problems we have with teenagers. Its just one minute he wants to be an adult and the next a kid, I suppose that's all part of growing up :-)

Yep, I have a couple of those, op. Never want to go out. Always looking at a screen. The only saving grace in our house is that we have a playroom/den that all the screens and gadgets are in so at least they are in the main bit of the house with each other and not locked away alone in their bedrooms.
