belly button piercing ,is 14 yrs too young?

yet again,dd is going on about getting something pierced.Last march she was on about getting her upper ear pierced,I said no and she hasn't mentioned it again.None of her friends got it done as far as I know,even though I was the only evil mother not allowing it.
So ,yet again she's saying her friend's mum is letting her do it .I'm saying wait until 16 yrs.Am I the only one who thinks 14 is a bit young ?

when i had mine doen you had be minimum 16 or they wouldn't do it (or look 16 in some places) that was 8 years ago, think its changed now tho

I should have had mine done at 14. I wanted it done but was made to wait til I was older. But then I had a baby and got a wrinkly tum and now can never have it done...sigh.

It wouldnt bother me if my 14 year old wants it done. There are worse things she could want. Although I doubt many will agree with me.

I think its too young.Think that area is quite prone to infection.

apart from infection why would a 14 yr old want it doing anyway? 14 yr old should still have that area covered so would only be for themselves IMO so whats the point? would hate to think my 14 yo was showing flesh like that at such a young age. kids too eager to grow up these days.

Any responsible place would refuse to do it until she was 16 anyway.

j had mine done at the age of 30 and christ in hurt.no infection probs and watching a ruddy big needle go through skin was bad enough!!!!!!

My dd (13) is not allowed to have her ears pierced until she is 16 - but then, she has got the most unreasonable mother in the world
