DD13 made me cry yesterday - happy tears rather than the usual frustrated ones...

Her sister (11) was doing a history project "build a castle".... and she went over to her WITHOUT BEING ASKED and asked gently if she could help at all.. "you are doing that really well" "I love the texture on that wall" "that was clever the way you made that path" etc etc....

I did wonder if the body-snatchers had been in..... she didn't realise we were listening and was extremely pleased when we noticed and we asked if they wanted to go to the cinema next weekend since they were being so nice this weekend....

all back to "normal for teenage - NFT , as in "What's up with her today - just NFT...." this morning though...

is it a sign of light at the end of the tunnel.... or a cruel reminder of times past???

You were a shit too once you know? You were a teenager, and gave your parents the same stress you're having now.

Did you get better? Of course you did.

She will too.

I wasn't though... apparently.... I was the studious one who just kept her head down and studied.. didn't get periods til 17 and I had left home by then... Haven't had my shitty phase ... yet .... Smile

Ah I think you had a glimpse of things to come, there is hope!

Its nice when you get glimpses like this isn't it? We get some occasionally, then PMT just kicks in again and I want to strangle her on a regular basis. Ho hum.

apparently

Parents with grown up children have a very rose tinted view of how their children were growing up. I'd put money on you having a 'teenage angst' phase.
