Tonight I sluiced down the worktop and mopped it with strong smelling detergent. DD aged 13 sees me do this then immediately pulls herself up to sit on worktop.

'Errgh, its all WET -and it STINKS!'

Give me strength.

When my dd was 14, she'd heard of people using chicken fillets to pad their bras.

Yes.. she used real chicken breasts until I discovered it and roared laughing.. and still rib her about it 9 years later :o

My straight A daughter left for uni and complained that all the buses were full and not stopping. Eventually one of her fellow students realised she didn't know that to stop a bus! She grew up in a rural area and if you are standing at the bus stop the very rare bus will stop without any arm movements! Year 3 and she is still trying to live that one down!

DD aged 23 so not a teen, asked if dragons still breath fire, ffs she is a health professional and is very bright but has zilch common sense Hmm

DS, 14, asking me why women's bags were called 'hambags', was it because they were made of ham originally?

He'll never, ever be allowed to forget that.

DD1... 16 at the time, getting home after our 'holiday of a lifetime' in Florida. Saw the bags arriving on the carousel and asked;
'How did they get here so fast... do they go in a tunnel under the sea?'

She's allegedly bright and a 4th yr medical student now, but OMG she can be dumb!!

NoComet · 03/01/2014 01:12

As a postgrad, I used to help out with medics practical classes, they do have zilch common sense

DS1 has a girlfriend. Last week, he asked her if unicorns were the horses with wings. Hmm

Rascall - I was the same when I moved to London from NZ and I was well into my 20s. Think I only did it once though Smile but no one tells you these things!
