Spots

DS1(12)is starting to get a few spots and I said I would buy some over the counter cream/cleanser for him. However whilst I am quite happy to buy all manner of oil stripping potions for myself, I don't want anything harsh on my 'baby's' skin Just wondered what anyone elses teenagers use?

My DD1(11) uses Clearasil Daily Spot Control 3 in 1 wash, she has suffered from greasy/spotty skin for the last two years nnd this is the first time she has used this,anything she has tried before hasn't worked.

My son started to get pretty spotty around 11/12 and i bought clearisil.

Much too harsh for him.he has ended up on firstly tetracycline and now erythomycine(sp) and duac lotion.I assumed it was just the usual teenage spot thing but he ended up with really bad acne so keep an eye on it.If it gets bad get them to the docs.my son was miserable for ages and i wish i'd taken him earlier.

Sorry forgot to say i just buy him Simple cleansing lotion and make up pads to cleanse his face.It has def worked for him,he's nearly 15 and had pretty clear skin now.

Our Dr. prescribed some 'once a day' cream for both dd and ds - neither of them has dreadful spots, but if they can be virtually reduced to nothing, why not!

We were actually at the surgery for something else, when the GP suggested it. What a hero - bit different from my day!!

my Ds is 13 and was starting to get quite spotty, i took him to GP as i was worried it would become acne.
She said that in this day and age noone should suffer and pescribed something called Zineryt, its in a roll on that he applies twice a day, they are much better.
She also said she would like to be able to hand it out in playgrounds!

Zineryt is wonderful stuff. Got rid of DD's acne all over her chest and forehead in about a week. DS is now about to turn 15 and hides an incredibly spotty forehead under a floppy fringe. I must get him down the doctors for some Zineryt too.
