Parental controls?

I tried to impose parental controls for my dd on youtube. It gave me 'Strict' or basically allow everything. Are there no gradations? I was talking to a friend and he said that in any case, if a teenager signs out and accesses youtube through another browser, they'd get access to everything. Is this right? Doesn't it make parental controls a bit useless for teenagers who know their way around technology?

Frankly, there's not much on youtube bar swearing and girls in bikinis.

Sorry, posted too soon.

What you really is need is site blocking at the router or via your security package. Talk to the geeks.

Strict option isn't all that strict, just choose strict.
AND use opendns, and an ISP that provides some filtering.
Many layers = good.

What the hell is the point

Teens look at anything and everything on their friends laptops and phones.

Someone at school will know how to derestrict youtube if she wants to. At one point the teachers got the pupils to hack the YouTube block, because they kept forgetting the official method.
