I'm okay on Girls - travel size shampoo/conditioner, flavoured lip balm, fluffy gloves, foodie/recipe mag, cupcake keyring etc - but what do I do for a boy (19 year old NZ student we are adopting for Christmas) ??

Thanks - all good ideas. He's a local Uni student who cant go home for Christmas. We've done this before (makes the family behave properly if there is someone 'new' there and it highlights the sense of Christmas as 'giving to others/sharing'). But, we've always had girls before and I only have a 13 year old DD so am being a bit clueless.

What a lovely thing to do!

Quirky T shirt

Mines getting a prepaid Costa card. That's my only inspired idea so far.

Gloves that work with a touchscreen phone.
Individual sachets of hot chocolate powder.
A novelty alarm clock.

There is a good website called something like Random Teens for good ideas !

I can't link on here but look in education/ higher education on mumsnet obviously ;-). There is a thread there about Christmas stockings for uni students. Loads of extra ideas there.

And what a lovely idea to adopt a student. And try living overseas for someone to send some NZ stuff.

Eaatwick - that's a fab idea! DS often meets up with his gf at Costa after school and I'm always subbing him. I'll definitely be putting a card in his stocking - thanks!!
