I've posted about my dd(16) once or twice under other names, she has emotional disregulation disorder & a panic disorder. Since she turned 13 my life has been hell dealing with her self harm & suicide attempts, but I want to climb on top of a tall building and shout to the world...

SHE GOES TO COLLEGE! EVERY DAY!

SHE GOT A JOB! A JOB!! BLOODY HELL!! A JOB!! A DECENT JOB TOO!!

So, if you're suffering with a violent and/or emotionally disordered teenager please know that there is hope. Two years ago I didn't think that either she or I would come out alive. She still has her moments but they're so much easier to deal with because of experience.

COLLEGE & A JOB!!

Woah. It's utterly astonishing. Grin

MistAllChuckingFrighty · 02/12/2013 11:50

Lovely news.

My dd was never so bad really, but we had our moments when she was 14-16 (well documented under another name)

I literally did cry all over her college tutors at her first "parents evening". She has completely changed herself around. When sentences like "one of our best ever students" and "a credit to herself" where innocently bandied around (obvs not knowing any back story) I just crumbled (in a good way)

Well done to both of you for getting though this [tchgrin]

wifeandmotherandlotsofother · 03/12/2013 13:01

Thank you, I love to hear the happy stories of how they turned their lives around. Am still struggling a bit with mine but these posts do give me hope x

whitesugar · 08/12/2013 04:55

Wow wee, well done you and her. Please please let this happen to me. The sentences I get from school are things like, suspended for 3 days, rude, late, absent without permission. I live in hope. You are so lucky to be out the other side, congratulations!

Chottie · 08/12/2013 04:58

Congratulations to you both. Xmas Smile
