My DD has slightly crossed front teeth, she is also stunningly beautiful too! She went to see about braces but it all seemed alot to go through for such a small "defect" they wanted to take her back teeth out. So we refused but now she says she wants them now. I'm not sure she understands how painful it all will be. Does anyone have any idea what we should do.

I was told by my orthodontist that under no circumstances should adult teeth be removed. He said they are the scaffolding for the face.

I would go and see another orthodontist to see if she can have clear plastic retainers to fix the crossed teeth - I have had mine done like that (few other issues to correct too) - has taken 2 years but have very straight teeth now.

Thank you madam thats what I thought It all seemed a bit like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, if she had a great jumble of teeth then fair enough, but not for crossed ones

If it isn't broke don't fix it.

Seems like a very large risk for such a small gain.

She needs something called Damon braces which straighten teeth without extraction. You need to look for an orthodontist in your area that does Damon.

Giving it another bump for the evening crowd.
