I think my son has Social Anxiety Disorder, and it's getting worse. He's 17 now and although very articulate and doing well at college, his social life is non existent. He tries to go to parties, but ends up in tears as he hates the noise, the drinking and is crippled with shyness. He gets on well with adults, and is happy to be on his own, doing his drawing etc, but seems to be getting more and more introverted.

Anyone got any experience, or any ideas....I imagine doctor and cbt is the first step. Thanks.
