acne scarring

hi, my daughter has got rid of her acne using Roacatin (fab stuff but definitely a last chance saloon cure..but works!) but has been left with red scarring, almost looks like still has spots, so is still very self conscious and layering on the foundation (doctors told her makeup doesn't affect acne) Any ideas/products available does anyone know. She is 18

From experience it takes a while for the redness to fade but it does disappear gradually (mine and dd's were gone within a year) sunblock helps decrease any more pigmentation...otherwise gentle cleansing and moisturising was what we were told.

Just posted on another thread to recommend Clinique's CC cream, a foundation/moisturiser specifically to even out skin blemishes. It really is excellent and my DD uses it when she's going out on a special occasion for the reasons you state OP.

I see that they have just brought out a range of primers specifically aimed at toning down blemishes so your daughter may like to give those a try.

FYI doctors sometimes refer skin patients to Clinique for skin-care consultations so I would imagine this goes some way to providing an endorsement to their products.
