we all went out the other day and DM was so bossy, and imo difficult, unless I am getting older and less tolerant, or she is getting older, and more difficult, but a combination of the two was quite hard going.

anyway very kindly she offered to take dd shopping for new school skirt/trousers, whatever she needs. but dd really doesn't want this. in fact my dm sounded so dejected when she said she had nothing on, I pointed out I wasn't working two of the days she suggested and she said I could come too.!

but DD wants me to take her shopping,

I know DD is difficult but DM is too! shall we suck it and see, all 3 go together, or make DD go with DM?

domination, that is a good word, and that is the problem.

problem is we are skint and I wasn't going to buy DD anything new.

Tell your mum dd doesn't need anything, but invite her round for a cup of tea instead. Tell DD she has to be in for at least the first hour (or whatever suits) of grandmas visit, then she can go and see friends.

good idea.
excellent.

tempting to let my DM pay, which was what she offered, but probably not worth the aggro, and stress

Tell dd that if she doesn't want to go out with Grandma she should tell her so herself - set it up, call GM, tell her DD says she might not be able to come and hand over the phone.

sounds like a good plan noobie.
