Cheeky question - how much do your DCs get for their paper rounds?

How many days per week do they do?

DS, aged 14 recently started a Mon-Sat paper round (to raise funds for a mini world-challenge expedition) so far so good but, when the schools go back the week after next......

(am in Scotland by the way)

TIA for anyone's experiences/info.

Ds1 is covering someones paper round while they are away for the holidays.
He gets £3 something a day. About £26 a week I think.

Mine just deliver the free weekly one.
The amount varies, depending on the number of leaflets each week, and then also depending on the size of the round - dd generally earns about £6.50 - £7 and ds about £11-£11.50

Thank you for your replies - poor old DS has had a disappointment (and a lesson in not counting your chickens!) as the first week he did weds - sat, but was paid for a whole week it now turns out.

He also has a sunday paper round (which he'll give up), but it has a better hourly rate of pay. Perhaps sunday rounds pay more?

Are all paper rounds either mon-sat or sundays only?

My ds does 7 days a week.

My DS has never had a paper round so can't comment on the money side of it - but definitely in this village different children do the morning papers to the evening (local paper), Mon - Sat, and the Sunday papers are a separate round again. May well be a different rate of pay as the Sundays are much heavier and more difficult to get through the letter box.

My DS does morning deliveries 7 days a week, one week on one week off, he gets £17.

Oh - that's a good idea - the Saturday and sunday bags are really heavy. DS said he could barely get this Sunday's bag over his head! Shock.

I do worry that he'll injure his neck/shoulder - but won't say.

Does your DS get £17 on the weeks that he's on or every week? (sorry if that's a stupid question.)
