NUS card in 6th form

Does anyone know if DS can apply for a student card if he is going to 6th form instead of college? I tried to apply ready for September but his school is not recognised.
Apologies if this isn't in the right place but higher/further ed threads all appear to be about uni. Not sure we are gonna make it that far!

He can only get an NUS card if the VI Form have a student union.

My dd 1 had a NUS Card & her 6th form didn't have a students union, so it is doable, I can't remember how she did it though.

Yes. Kids in our school have them. But don't know how they apply, sorry.

Yes he can. I'm 18 and just finished sixth form and you just apply on their website. You have to put in the sixth form and they will send it to the school to make sure you go there.

(For anyone wondering - 18 year old mumsnetter due to finding out about my very unexpected, surprise baby due in February the day after finishing said sixth form!)

Thanks for posting this question, OP - my DS would find one very useful.

And welcome to Mumsnet, Holly! You'll find plenty of support and friendship here, amongst the threads.
