Is this stuff legal ? Does anyone have experience of this? as far as I can see there is no nicotine involved and its just fruit flavoured steam..my DP says they are banned in other countries and are illegal for children....

They are very popular in the middle east, where it is completely legal. They contain a lot of tobacco - 1/2 hour smoking shisha equals 4 cigarettes!
Would give a miss!

Shisha isn't harmless. In addition, although the mouthpiece is cleaned/changed between smokers, the pipe isn't and the pipe will be full of moist germs breathed into it by previous users. These can, if you are unlucky, include very nasty things like TB or bronchial infections.

I was horrified to find out my DD had smoked shisha on her school's Czech Exchange as she was only year nine at the time!! She was quite open about it and seemed surprised that I was so shocked- she obviously thought it was fine as they'd done it in a girl's house in Prague in full view of the parents. No idea if it's legal over there but there have been lots of reports here about Shisha cafes and a new culture around it that has led to hospital cases.

Legal yes, nicotine free NO. Risk free NO .

Especially no shisha cafes/sharing. Bugs including herpes are common.
